This workshop is $35 and includes all materials. We will meet two Saturdays for 3 hours each day. By the end of the workshop on day 2, you will have an altered book that will give new meaning to a pocket book. 

The theme is birds, butterflies, and flowers. 

Altered books are books that have been creatively transformed from their original form into unique works of art. The process involves altering the pages, covers, or entire structure of the book, typically by adding, removing, or manipulating parts of it to create a new visual or conceptual expression.

Altered books can involve various techniques and materials, such as:

Cutting and Collaging: Pages may be cut out or shaped, and collages can be added using other materials, pictures, or text.

Painting and Drawing: Artists may paint, draw, or doodle directly on the pages or covers to create new themes or visual interest.
Stamping and Stenciling: Using rubber stamps, stencils, and other tools to imprint new images, text, or patterns.
Layering: Adding layers of paper, fabric, or other materials to the pages, often to create texture and dimension.
Rebinding: Altered books might involve removing the original binding and reassembling the book with new covers or pages.
Interactive Elements: Some altered books include pockets, fold-outs, or other interactive components that invite the viewer to engage with the book physically.
Mixed Media: The books might incorporate things like fabric, found objects, and other unexpected materials.
