A junk journal workshop is perfect for anyone who enjoys upcycling, crafting, or exploring their creativity in an open-ended, artistic way!
- Junk Journal Workshop #1 will be held on April 7, 9, and 11, 2025. All workshops will have a maximum of 8 participants.
- Junk Journal Workshops will meet in the evenings from 5:30 - 7:30 PM at Eclectic Shoppe in La Fontaine, IN.
My junk journal workshops are interactive and creative. Participants make personalized journals using a mix of recycled, vintage, and found materials. These journals can be used for art, writing, scrapbooking, or memory-keeping. The workshop typically includes:
-
Assembling the Journal – Using old book covers, scrapbook paper, fabric, or even repurposed envelopes to create a unique base.
-
Decorating Pages – Adding layers with paint, stamps, stencils, washi tape, and collage elements.
-
Ephemera – We will use vintage postcards, old book pages, ticket stubs, lace, or magazine clippings to enhance the journal’s aesthetic.
-
Binding Techniques – We will learn how to bind pages together using sewing, stapling, or ring binding.
My workshops are not neat. We use our hands for cutting, glueing, pasteing, assembling, etc. this means there's a good possibility you will ruin your manicure. :) Feel free to bring gloves you can work with if you're interested.
